Steel Pallets

Steel metal pallets are another pallet variant, besides those made of wood and plastic, with very specific applications. Due to them being heavy-duty, they are the most commonly used pallet in the automotive and metal processing sectors .

Steel pallets are invariably stronger than their wooden counterparts, and they weigh less than large, heavy wooden pallets. A steel pallet can subsequently take more weight during transportation and storage. 

Metal and steel pallets can be designed in a number of ways according to their usage. A key benefit is the ability to be stacked to a maximum height which offers a space-saving storage facility in warehouses where space costs money. Rather than being a wooden boarded pallet design which a limited design capability, steel pallets can be designed in a range of styles. They can be designed with removable doors, open access, detachable panels and also with legs to raise them off the ground. A wide and varied range of designs offers greater flexibility and tailoring to requirements

Steel pallets are also much more hygienically safe than wood pallets. Wooden pallets can often get contaminated with bacteria that lead to hygiene issues and the spread of disease and illness. Steel pallets can be hygienically sanitised and cleaned more effectively and negate germs, bacteria and insect infestation. Wooden pallets also create a fire hazard and using steel pallets negates this risk.
